DAVID THORNTON (Ronnie Grossman) has appeared in numerous roles in over twenty-five independent films. In Nick Cassavetes upcoming movie JOHN Q, scheduled for release in Fall 2001, Thornton will play the best friend of Denzel Washington. He has also appeared in Cassavetes’ films UNHOOK THE STARS with Gerard Depardieu, and SHE’S SO LOVELY with Sean Penn and JohnTravolta. Other movie credits include HIGH ART, THELAST DAYS OF DISCO, A CIVIL ACTION, MRS. PARKER ANDTHE VICIOUS CIRLE and John Turturro’s ILLUMINATA, nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1998. Most recently, Thornton completed the filming of Elizabeth Diamond’s PRIVATE PROPERTY, where he co-stars with Mirjana Jokovic, winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes for UNDERGROUND. Thornton has also appeared extensively in regional and Off-Broadway theater, and received an LA Dramalogue award for his role as Carl in the JOHNSTOWNE VINDICATOR. David received an MFA in acting from the Yale School of Drama.
